There is a natural link between analytical services of
KET and data analysis software products: patterns (dependence
descriptors) found in the process of KET analysis can be further
implemented as programs that predict, recognize, raise early warning

As explained in the technological part of this site (see
"White Paper"), a dependence descriptor first can be found in a
certain "invariant" form, which later can be converted into many well-known forms
for convenience of the user.
This conversion is a separate stage of KET analysis. It
is supported by several representation modules. In some cases
representation is an equivalent transformation, i.e., does not imply any
loss of accuracy. In some cases it is a lossy conversion
(approximation). Representation utilities inform the analyst about
potential loss of information.
In such cases, like in all other approximation procedures,
different criteria can be applied. The most typical situation is a
necessity to trade between accuracy and complexity. One of useful
features of KET is its capability to establish available range of
accuracy and complexity in advance, so that the analysis (or the user)
can choose realistic accuracy and optimize in terms of complexity and

KET internal representations typically are the most
simple and accurate. For this reason, if the client has no good reasons
to prefer some special representation (like a neural net), then it is
better to stick to the original form of the pattern.
If the patterns should be implemented as a program, it
can be converted into an executable form. In this sense we sometimes
talk about "executable patterns".
On the other hand, there are at least two frequent
situations where users prefer conversion into another form: one of them
is a concern about compatibility (or interaction) between the pattern
and other previously created parts of the application,. another is the
requirement of the client to create the final pattern that could be
understood by people (specialists in the applied field) or by a semantic
